HEALTH

Ubora Healthcare Missions.png

We are helping build healthcare infrastructure in a community that once had very little medical resources.  Ubora believes that every person deserves access to quality healthcare and that medical personnel should receive training and resources which allow them to effectively provide this care. Our volunteers assist in conducting clinics at Siha Leadership School and public schools throughout the district. Other programs include a three year Community Health Workers training for the 120 CHWs in the district and delivery of shipping containers of medical supplies, equipment, and medicine.

Impact

  • Community Health Workers being trained in first aid, sanitation, and nutrition to serve 60 villages.

  • 139,000 residents of Siha district have access to medicines and treatment not previously available

  • 4000 children have received physicals and follow up care through our village clinics

  • 21 local “pharmacies” received medicine to distribute free of charge to villagers

Medicine + Equipment

In early 2021, two containers of medicine and medical equipment from the U.S. arrived at the Siha District Hospital. These shipments were made possible through foundation partners, Ubora’s individual donors, and MAP International and Medshare. The result—lives are being saved and bodies healed thanks to all who joined to make this campaign a reality!

For these things we received here in Siha, we feel a big debt in our hearts.
— Onesmo Buswelu, Siha District Commissioner
