Godlove’s Story

November 7, 2026

Born on 7 October 2019, Godlove is the youngest of six children – four boys and two girls. His parents support the family through small-scale farming and keeping a few goats and chickens. With so many needs to meet, sending Godlove to a private school once felt beyond the family’s reach. Through UBORA Foundation’s sponsorship programme, that dream became possible.

When Godlove first arrived at school, he was very shy and cried for much of the day, wanting to go home. Today, he confidently answers questions and takes part in class. The social worker who first visited him remembers those early days: “He was very shy... but now I am amazed and encouraged to see him growing into a confident, courageous young boy with a big future ahead of him.” He is now in Grade One.

Godlove’s School Day

Godlove’s favourite subject is reading. He also loves football and looks forward to porridge time. One teacher holds a special place in his heart: Mr Ombeni. “I love him as he always gives me a pencil when I don’t have one,” Godlove says – a small act of kindness that helps him feel supported and ready to learn.

Every day, Godlove walks about three kilometres to school and three kilometres home. He dreams of becoming an evangelist and loves praying for his family, especially his elder brother Zawadi, who is also his favourite companion. Their bond reflects the caring heart Godlove is growing into.

Life at Home

After school, Godlove helps his parents graze the goats, does his homework, joins the family in prayer and then goes to bed. His home has no electricity, so he sometimes studies at his grandmother’s house by the light of a small solar torch.

His dreams are beautifully simple. When he grows up and earns money, he wants to buy sugar for his family, because he loves tea, and to bring electricity to their home. For Godlove, success means making life better for the people he loves.

A Mother’s Testimony

Godlove’s mother describes him as bright, hardworking, committed and disciplined, with a deep love for God. “When he hears that I am sick, he comes and prays for me,” she says. Supporting six children and their education is a major challenge, so she is grateful to UBORA Foundation for giving Godlove access to education and for strengthening her hope that her children can reach their dreams.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

Godlove promises to work hard and be a good child. He has many lessons ahead, but today he has the opportunity to learn, grow in confidence and dream beyond his family’s circumstances.

To every UBORA Foundation supporter: “Thank you. Your support reaches beyond the classroom, strengthens families’ hope and helps children move towards brighter futures.”
